Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kiev Patriarchate expressed his gratitude to the ex-CIA associate director, acknowledging his support for the church’s break with Moscow.
Patriarch Filaret presented former CIA Associate Director Jack Devine with the Order of St. Andrew, the church’s highest decoration.
The CIA and the Vatican have long established ties since the CIA’s inception so such activity would not see the church of Rome far away from this activity. It was the collaboration between the church of Rome and the CIA that lead to the dismantling of the former USSR.
