Moses preached a great deal on the health and cleanliness, and the reason the professed children of Israel did not go through to the promised land was because of repeated indulgence of appetite. It is the same but worsening situation today. The crime and transgressions against our own being intensifies with lawlessness and modern technology.
Adam and Eve lost Eden through the indulgence of appetite, and we only regain it by the denial of appetite and control of the senses. The senses are the avenue to the soul, and as the mind takes control of the senses in appetite so victories are won in Christ’s name and the Spirit of God is manifest in health and cleanness.
Professed people of God socially drinking, taking on the ways and looks of the world in tattooing and fashion are not following the narrow way to life. This cool look of self destruction is for fools.
Some have the righteous appearance and accolades of the world as they work as lawyers and Doctors but nothing has changed since the days of Christ. Matthew 11:46 And he said, Woe unto you also, [ye] lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. Perhaps politicians having studies law as well as lawyers themselves who count every crumb belong to this same group Christ speaks of. How appropriate is this statement of Christ you lade men with grievous burdens, and you yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers but profit from the misery of others.
Doctors, lawyers many who have profession but unfaithful to God and rational, making concessions for money and living and prestige should look carefully at the words of Christ.
Matthew 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, [even] Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Because the perception of the time similar to today; those that hold men captive by corporate wealth and position Jesus has to say to His patient more than once: Matthew 8:4 ‘See thou tell no man;’ that I healed you, so His work could go on.
“A physician who has the moral courage to imperil his reputation in enlightening the understanding by plain facts, in showing the nature of disease and how to prevent it, and the dangerous practice of resorting to drugs, will have an uphill business, but he will live and let live. . . .” He will, if a reformer, talk plainly in regard to the false appetites and ruinous self-indulgence, in dressing, in eating and drinking, in overtaxing to do a large amount of work in a given time, which has a ruinous influence upon the temper, the physical and mental powers. . . . Ezekiel 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Tell many who has the moral courage to imperil his reputation for God and humanity’s sake. 99% took that position for prestige and money.
When the rich young ruler had turned away from Jesus, the disciples had marveled at their Master’s saying, “How hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!” They had exclaimed one to another, “Who then can be saved?” Now they had a demonstration of the truth of Christ’s words, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” They saw how, through the grace of God, a rich man could enter into the kingdom. {CC 302.7}
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Of course false teachers who have posed as Christ’s ministers have a weighty responsibility Ezekiel 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, [were] about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
8:17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen [this], O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
8:18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, [yet] will I not hear them.
Lesbianism/ homosexuality popular as it is, whether accepted by a church or no, is not conducive to life or some evolutionary process that can take on a family role. Our role in life is passed down to us as our God given privilege, which is not to take on spiritism’s flavor in a condescending Christianity. Lift up the lonely and confused, the bitter, the oppressed and point them up to who they can actually be, having the mind as Christ.
These victories that are asked of us that cut across natural inclination for work and the ways of the world, that point to a different way of life are for Spiritual and Physical healing makes us the beneficiaries, in intellect, in self healing and thus the quality of life and recipients for life eternal.
