Animal sacrifice was given ancient Israel to awaken not to harden the sensitivities of the human race to their self distinctive condition.
The children were given manna from heaven everyday, a daily miracle to sustain life but they hankered for flesh Ps 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
106:15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
Psalms 51:16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give [it]: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
51:17 The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Sacrifice was to point to the sacrifice of Christ and the critical state the human mind was in.
In the world restored to the righteous Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Heaven is not like an escalator in which we ride to heaven and suddenly they say ‘drop the bones.’ Grains and fruits prepared free from grease, and in as natural a condition as possible, should be the food for the tables of all who claim to be preparing for translation to heaven.
How few are practicing the teaching of the Bible teachings concerning health laws and the results for character and eternity may well have its foundation in the stomach. God wants His children to be leaders in conservation. The head and not the tail. Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do [them]:
For all the objects of His creation the condition is the same–a life sustained by receiving the life of God, a life exercised in harmony with the Creator’s will. To transgress His law, physical, mental, or moral, is to place one’s self out of harmony with the universe, to introduce discord, anarchy, ruin. Education, pp. 99, 100.
