Born to Live! Part 2
Born to Live! Part 3
As the Lord went ahead of Israel as they carried the law before them into Jordan and onto the promised land and the troubled waters parted so we are to do the same as we look to the kingdom just beyond, the kingdom of heaven is just before us…..The simplest thing in the world yet hardest thing is to at the command of God step forward. Trust His word because you know Him, going by His word not your own instincts to fear and doubt. Our thoughts and feeling betray us but if we follow the command they will also follow on in time as we change the medium of the world to the medium of God. The key here is our choice and the hard grit is to make the changes from the habits of the world to a candidate for heaven.
“Many are inquiring, “How am I to make the surrender of myself to God?” You desire to give yourself to Him, but you are weak in moral power, in slavery to doubt, and controlled by the habits of your life of sin. Your promises and resolutions are like ropes of sand. You cannot control your thoughts, your impulses, your affections. The knowledge of your broken promises and forfeited pledges weakens your confidence in your own sincerity, and causes you to feel that God cannot accept you; but you need not despair. What you need to understand is the true force of the will. This is the governing power in the nature of man, the power of decision, or of choice. Everything depends on the right action of the will.”
A cross is not easy I want you to know that but the results that begin here on earth are wonderful. “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” We must remember this. And with what speed that change occurs depends on the affections of our own heart. If it was gold or a vacation we won how easily the heart would be in it. So we need to have our heart in this all the way. All who are willing are needed and when stepping up to the plate the angels will communicate and work for us in assisting our feeble efforts- this in part of the 3 angels messages- so that means YOU.
In order to secure us to Himself and ensure our eternal salvation He gave all that He had–His riches, His glory, and His own precious life. For us He endured the agony of the Garden of Gethsemane, when the mysterious cup trembled in His hand and His anguished soul cried out, “Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me.” From His pale, quivering lips came this anguished prayer, and then the words of submission, “O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me except I drink it, Thy will be done.” An angel from heaven strengthened the royal Sufferer to tread His blood-stained path to Calvary, and to drink the cup of suffering to its very dregs. Oh, why was all this suffering, this ignominy, and torturing agony? It was that by this sacrifice of Himself His love might stand revealed, that He might woo men from the ways of sin. After man has cost so much, will He leave him now? Oh no, no! He is faithful that has promised; His arms are outstretched to clasp the repentant, believing ones to His heart of love, with all the tenderness of divine affection. In Jesus we have an enduring, unchanging friend, and though all earthly prospects should fail and every earthly friend prove treacherous, yet He is faithful still. {12MR 115.1}
